Wisdom from Mom

If you are like me, you consistently have a million projects in the works at the same time (any true quilter does, correct?).   If you are like me, you have a limited amount of space to store the aforementioned projects.  If you are like me, your sewing room is typically in state of tornado-aftermath-like disarray.  And lastly, if you are like me, you are still waiting to win that lottery that will afford you the mansion that would be required to adequately store your fabric stash.

Until then, if you are like me; you are faced with finding a better way to store those in-process blocks.

My Mom shared a nifty little idea with me last year as we worked together in her ever-so-organized sewing room...

Pizza Boxes!

They come anywhere from 8 inches to 18, fit nicely together and pile neatly as high as you need them too.  And while I would not recommend using a box that previously housed a bubbling, gooey, greasy, cheesy pie, I would recommend heading to your favorite pie joint and requesting a box or two.

Tell us your favorite way to store your blocks and have your name placed in the pot to win three 15" pizza boxes (plain, white and never used!).

Drawing will be held on October 15th.

  2. Oh my goodness...what a great idea! Well, right now I just have blocks stacked in a drawer. Or I use ziploc bags.

  3. I found a relly good deal on 12" x 12" plastic scrapbooking boxes, not only do they hold the blocks but the pattern and scraps too. I use a few pizza boxes as well for my Buggy Barn pieces. I tape the pattern on the bottom and lay the coordinating pieces on top. They hold them all in nice and snug. What a fun give away.

  4. I use both pizza boxes and the scrapbooking plastic boxes. I love the plastic boxes, but only buy them when they are on sale. They are a great way to keep everything together in one place.
